Hi guys,
I am using a multi media content box on Thinkific in the course area which will link to a page on our wordpress site which is part of a course, so only available to people who pay for the course. How can we make this page hidden or unfindable to general public who have not paid for the course
We are using Thinkific as our membership platform and LMS so don’t what to create a membership area on the wordpress site.
Any help appreciated…..?
Thanks
It would be great if Thinkific provided a WordPress plugin to protect pages for paid members.
Without that functionality, there's no way for WordPress to know whether a member has paid or not on Thinkific's website.
You can publish a page on your WordPress site and simply not add it to any menus. That will essentially hide it from anyone who doesn't have the URL.
If you've installed Yoast SEO, you can also hide the page from being indexed by search engines.
And, you can password-protect a page so that a visitor must enter the password before viewing the page. But that requires you to furnish them the password beforehand.
Hopefully that will accomplish what you need.
Hi Shawn, tks for your answer. The multimedia box is like an embedded pdf in that in the box you see a webpage and you can interact with it bit it is inside a multimedia box in Thinkifics LMS.
We want to put one of our WP pages in this box which we want to be only accessible to people who have paid and are in Thinkifics course. I guess we can follow the steps you suggested to enure the page is not easily findable. Maybe a better question to ask is, is there a way to hide the URL so that people cant copy it and post it somewhere?
If the URL is visible to the viewer at any point, then it can be copied and pasted elsewhere. You might change the permalink slug to a random string of characters, which would make the link appear more secure, but this really just keeps honest people honest.
The only way to make a page truly private is to protect it with a password.
Great thanks. I thought maybe there was a way to hide the URL so that it only showed the main domain. with nothing after it. Thanks for you help. I will take on board what you said.
